The Association

The Carolina Feather Fanciers Association first started as the Randolph County Poultry Club and the first recorded meeting was at Asheboro, NC. In 1952. At that time there was also a club in Guilford County. Neither club had the resources to produce a show on their own so their shows were joint ventures. In the early 1960's the two clubs took the name Guil-Rand Fowl Fanciers Club and official became one club. A number of the members were also members of the Forsyth Fowl Fanciers Club in Winston-Salem, NC.

In 1961 Guil-Rand shows were held at the Guilford County Fairgrounds in High Point, NC and for many years there after, until the show became too large for the space.

In 1995 the Rockingham / Stokes County Poultry Association, merged with Guil-Rand bring all its members and financial assets. In 2005 the club once again under went some change by first changing the Name of the Club to the Carolina Feather Fanciers Association, trying to keep up with the ever-changing membership of the club that no longer is limited to Guilford and Randolph counties. Our membership now ranges all across North Carolina. The club has one show each year and also manages the Poultry exhibit for the Central Carolina Fair at Greensboro, NC.  The show is on the Second Saturday of April, unless that is Easter weekend.

In March 2006 we chartered the Cape Fear Feather Fanciers Association as the First Charter Club of the Carolina Feather Fanciers Association.  This WE hope is the start of many other poultry club all across the State that will become Charted Members of the Parent club.

In 2009 Cape Fear Feather Fanciers Association official dissolved and became the Cape Fear Poultry Association.   The club is growing and they had their first Poultry show on February 6, 2010. it was a small show but they have a great location, and members that want to have the shows.

Feel free to e-mail the Club with your questions or comments. And log on from time to time as the club updates the site monthly.  We also have a Guest Book and a Message Board for those who want to use it.
